Overview
Buyout Chillout ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that lets users add a voluntary waiting period before completing a purchase on Amazon, in order to reduce impulse buying. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
Data We Collect
When a user chooses to "freeze" an item, the extension stores the following information about that item:
This data is read directly from the Amazon product page the user is viewing, using content that is already visible to the user in their browser.
How Data Is Stored
All data is stored locally on the user's device using Chrome's built-in storage.local API. Buyout Chillout has no backend server, and no data is transmitted off the user's device at any time. We do not have access to this data ourselves — it never leaves the user's browser.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, transfer, or disclose any user data to any third party, because no data is ever collected or transmitted by us in the first place.
Data Retention and Deletion
Frozen item data remains in local storage until the user removes it, decides on the item, or uninstalls the extension. Uninstalling the extension deletes all locally stored data along with it.
